Our lives are so busy today that families need to know where they can turn for support. At the Y we provide more than a place for kids to go. We care for kids by providing nurturing development, healthy lifestyle choices, self-reliance through positive relationships, and values-based learning.

School-Age Care

The South Sound YMCA offers state-licensed before- and after-school care at 32 schools in our community. Our programs allow for activity choice focused around our themed curriculum which includes homework assistance and a fitness component. We also participate in "Army School-Age Programs In Your Neighborhood (ASPYN)"

Early Learning

The South Sound YMCA is proud to provide state-licensed all-day care for infant through preschool age children in collaboration with SPSCC and Headstart. Children are cared for in a warm, safe environment by staff who are well-trained in early childhood education. Our program follows age-appropriate lesson plans designed to stimulate growth toward kindergarten readiness.
