YOUTH SWIM LESSONS
We offer swim classes for infants, toddlers, school-age youths, and teens in classes that are suited to their skill level because at the Y, we believe kids of all ages should have the opportunity to learn how to swim.
If you're unsure of what class to sign your child up for, click here for help selecting a level.
ADULT/TEEN SWIM LESSONS
These classes are for adult and teen participants of all levels looking to overcome a fear of water, improve their stroke, or train for an event. Basic stroke techniques will be covered. For more information about adult and teen swim lessons, contact your local branch.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
If you prefer to work one on one with an instructor or are looking to focus on a specific aspect of swimming, private lessons are an option. One session consists of four 30 minute lessons; these 4 week session dates will run in conjunction with the group swim lesson dates. New changes to the process allow you to register online, on our mobile app, and at the membership desk. Additionally, at the time of registration you can view availability of instructors and sign-up directly with the instructor of your choice.
Semi-private lessons are also available for two students to work with one instructor. This is a great option for siblings!
Contact your local branch for more information about private lessons and the new registration process.

Welcome to the great world of competitive swimming! The South Sound YMCA swim team program is focused on offering an enjoyable and rewarding challenge for your children. We are dedicated to providing a quality, competitive activity founded on the full development of each athlete.
Synchronized swimming challenges the creativity of swimmers by combining the movements of dance with swimming skills. Students work to improve stroke, form, and endurance while gaining confidence and poise. Swimmers may participate in performances and competitions, and must be able to swim at a level 5 or higher.
