Summer Camps!
Hiking, Swimming, Archery, Climbing, Biking, Adventure, Discovering, and fun are waiting for your child this summer at the South Sound YMCA.
The Olympia Downtown Branch will offer Summer Youth Sports Camps, where kids always have active fun!
Introducing a new series of week-long Teen Xtreme camps for teens entering grades 6-9, such as "Take on Tacoma" and "Wet and Wild." Register at either branch today and ensure a safe, fun summer! More Information

Safe Sitters is a hands-on, class that teaches boys and girls, ages 11-13, how to handle emergencies when caring for children. The next class will be held Friday, May 15, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Briggs Community Branch YMCA. The cost for members is $50.00. Register at Member Services or by calling 360-753-6576.

Family Fun Night
Bring the family for a fun and exciting game and movie night on Friday, May 8, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Briggs Multi-Purpose Room. A free event for members!

Youth Training Class
A one-day, trainer-led, class for kids 11-14, teaches the importance of health, nutrition, safe training principles, and club etiquette; and the class helps participants establish a training plan to meet their personal needs. Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Pre-registration required three days before class.

Teen Offerings!
Come see teen bands" The Next Door Neighbors" and "Verlee Rose" play in the Teen Loft, at the Downtown Branch, on Saturday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $2 at the door. All ages welcome!
The Teen Loft at the Downtown Branch YMCA is open for drop-in hours for youth ages 10-19 on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Capital City Marathon: Kids Run
Kids between the ages of 5-12 years of age bring your families to the Capital City Marathon on May 16! Jamba Juice and other fun, family activities will be available. For more information click here.

Facility Closure
The Briggs Community YMCA will be closing in June for annual cleaning and repairs. The pools will close Sunday, June 7, - Monday, June 22; the facility will close Sunday, June 14, - Monday, June 22.

Strong Kids Campaign
The South Sound YMCA wishes to thank all of our members who helped make the 2009 Strong Kids Campaign a success. With your help, we reached and even exceeded our goal as an Association, raising a total of over $390,000 for financial aid for children, youth, and families in need.

Healthy Family Home
The Healthy Family Home starter kit is a convenient tool full of family fun activities and information for the entire home on play, eating healthy, and family time. The starter kit can be found on www.ymca.net/healthyfamilyhome.
Put your stationary bike, treadmill, or other exercise equipment in the kitchen, family room, or another room where your family spends a lot of time.
