Giving to the YMCA

For over 100 years, the South Sound YMCA has been a vital community asset, by providing programs and activities that encompass the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and building important development assets.  In 2007, the South Sound YMCA had 63,330 individuals participate in a wide range of programs and activities designed to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. 

Your charitable contribution to the South Sound YMCA can make a tremendous difference in the lives of kids and families in our community, both now and for generations to come.

With a gift to the Strong Kids Campaign, you can help ensure that everyone has access to YMCA programs and activities regardless of their ability to pay.  In 2007, your YMCA provided $429,000 in direct financial assistance to 5,000 individuals in our community.  This support allowed parents to work without worry while their children received quality childcare; gave hundreds of children the opportunity to participate in YMCA youth sports; provided YMCA memberships to many families, allowing them to spend quality time playing and learning together at the YMCA; and permitted thousands of others to participate in a wide range of value based programs.

Gifts to the Endowment Fund of the South Sound YMCA will help sustain your YMCA as the community’s leader in youth, teen, and family programming.  Earnings from the Endowment Fund will help to provide future generations with the Y’s full scope of quality activities and services.  Your gift will change lives for many years to come.  You can make a current gift of cash or stock, or give a deferred gift, such as a bequest in your will and become a member of the Heritage Club.
