Apple Cup Dinner and Auction

As the largest provider of youth sports in Thurston County, the South Sound YMCA serves 6,000 preschool to high school age youth in a dozen youth sports each year. Many of these youth would not be able to participate without financial assistance from the Y.

YMCA youth sports provides youth the opportunity to participate and have fun while learning new skills. YMCA youth sports focus not on competition but on teamwork, fair play, and family involvement. In addition, we strive to help the youth learn that regular exercise is important to developing healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Last year, the Apple Cup Dinner and Auction raised over $37,000 to benefit the youth sports programs and help the YMCA continue to serve everyone who wants to participate, regardless of their ability to pay.

Next year, the auction will be held Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Saint Martin’s University Conference Center.

There are many ways you can participate to make this a successful event, such as donating items, buying tickets and attending the event, or providing a sponsorship to help underwrite expenses. Whatever you choose, you will be helping to make a difference in the lives of thousands of kids in our community.
