YMCA Corporate Membership

Purpose
The South Sound YMCA Corporate Membership Program is a partnership with businesses in our community to promote employee awareness and knowledge of wellness issues. This program will increase employee access to YMCA fitness and other wellness activities, helping employers create a healthy working environment.

Benefits to the Employer

Illness, injury, and disease all significantly impact employers in absenteeism and leave benefits. Productivity is also impacted by sickness, injury, and stress. Many studies have shown the positive benefits of physical fitness in reducing illness, preventing or reducing recovery time from injuries, and avoiding many preventable diseases. When employees engage in physical activity, they feel better and are more productive. One study, described in Wellness Management, a newsletter of the National Wellness Association, reported the following benefits at more than 30 companies that had studied the effects of wellness programs over a 15-year period:

Average days of sick leave reduced by 22%
Number of hospital admissions reduced by 62%
Number of physician visits reduced by 16%
Per capita health costs reduced by 28%
Injury incidence reduced by 25%
Per capita workers' compensation cost reduced by 47%

Eligibility
The South Sound YMCA Corporate Membership is available to any South Sound business that has at least two employees and holds a current business license.

YMCA Coporate Membership Plans

Plan Options	Description	Minimum Number of Employees Required to Join
Plan A	All employees of the Corporate Member business are eligible for 50% off the joining fee when they join the YMCA.	No minimum required.
Plan B	All employees of the Corporate Member business are eligible for 75% off the joining fee when they join the YMCA.	A minimum of 10 employees must obtain and maintain a South Sound YMCA Membership.
Plan C	All employees of the Corporate Member business are eligible for 100% off the joining fee when they join the YMCA. The business must pay at least 50% of each participating employees' monthly fee for the duration of the agreement. This benefit must be equitably available to the employees of the business.	No minimum required.
