The YMCA is the place to join your neighbors and make new friends! Enjoy time together as a family in both structured and recreational programs. Parents and kids have fun, build bonds, and develop friendships by participating in sports, camping, and community activities.

The Parent-Child Program is designed for parents and their children to spend more quality time with each other. Parents and their children are divided up into small age-appropriate, geographically desirable groups called tribes. Each tribe meets once a month at a tribal member's home. Tribal meetings consist of games, stories, arts & crafts, and relationship building. Once a month there are large events for all tribes, such as campouts, pinewood derby, bowling parties, and family picnics. However, it is the fostering of the relationship between parent and child that is the core and primary focus of the program. There are several groups available:

Y-Papoose for Moms/Dads with children 3 & 4 years old
Y-Guides/Princesses for Dads and their children K-3rd grades
Y-Braves/Maidens for Moms and their children K-3rd grades

The objectives of the programs are to foster companionship and understanding, and set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child, enhance the quality of family time, emphasize the vital role that parents play in growth and development of their children, and expand awareness of body, mind, and spirit.
