We provide before and after school care for school age children at most Thurston county elementary schools and at select schools in Lewis and Mason counties. Please click here for a list of schools. For preschool children, we provide care at the South Puget Sound Community College. Please contact the Child Care office at (360) 705-2642 for more information on preschool care.
2. When do you provide child care? Care is provided for school-age children from 7 a.m. until school begins and from the time of dismissal until 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Care is available on early dismissal and in-service days but may require an additional charge depending on your chosen schedule. Please call the child care office for schedules, or schedules may be picked up at the Campus Child Care Center. We also offer seasonal and summer day camps. 3. What is the price of YMCA child care services? Prices vary due to the different schedules in each school district. Contact any of the branches for school age rates and the child care office for Child Care Campus rates.
4. When is my child care payment due? Payments are due by the 10th of the month for that month of care and can be made online or at any YMCA branch. A $20 late fee is due if payment is received after the 10th. Payments can be made by monthly bank draft as well and are withdrawn on the 14th of each month. You may make a payment over the phone by contacting the Olympia Downtown Branch or the Briggs Community Branch.
5. Do you accept DSHS subsidy? Yes, we do. Please arrange with DSHS for the South Sound YMCA to be your provider, and contact us when the arrangements have been made at (360) 705-2642. Our provider number is 249203.
6. What is your tax ID number? Our tax ID number is 91-0586473. Please keep record of all payments. The South Sound YMCA Child Care extension does not automatically mail an itemized report at the end of the calendar year.

What times are you open? The Olympia Downtown Branch is open 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday; and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday (The Olympia Downtown Branch is closed on Sundays during the summer months.) The Briggs Community Branch is open 5 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday; and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday.
2. Do you have a swimming pool? Yes. The Olympia Downtown Branch has a single lap pool, and the Briggs Community Branch has a lap pool and an activity pool. Both locations do have open swim times for members and non-members. A daily membership rate is required for those who would like to swim but do not have a full YMCA membership. 3. How much is a YMCA membership? We have two types of memberships, basic and full. A basic membership allows a person to register for YMCA programs while paying an additional program fee. A full membership allows a person to utilize both South Sound YMCA branch facilities, participate in all programs offered to our full members at no cost, and receive discounts on programs with fees. 4. Do you provide financial aid for memberships? Yes, we do. You may contact either branch for more information, or you can download an application online.
